Current News
June 28 - Field Day 2010 has come and gone for another year. We had an outstanding effort again this year and had our personal best in the 1A class. We worked 1312 stations and had a total score of 3594 that has been submitted to the ARRL. We raised the 40 foot mast and installed a 40m sloper antenna and used a pulley system for switching between the 80m and 20m dipole antennas. We had two rigs available for the station and both utilized (not at the same time being 1A) during the contest. One rig was an Icom IC-756 and the other being a Yaesu FTDX-9000. It was very cool to operate with one of the finest amateur transceivers made to date. The FTDX-9000 is a massive radio and takes up half the table with its size, but the radio is a pleasure to use. With crowded band conditions, the 9000 really makes operating in a contest very enjoyable. We wish to thank the following hams for making our Field Day one of the best ever.
- Darren VE3REK - provided the 40 foot mast and digital stuff
- Richard VE3SQT - provided the Icom IC-756 and Heil Headset
- Carl VE3BY - provided the Yaesu FTDX-9000
- Bob VE3WW - provided the Honda 5kw Generator
- Greg VA3KUG - provided all antennas and the logging notebook pc
