Welcome to Midland Stargazers website. Astronomy is one of our favorite passtimes. We are a group of toolmaker/technician-technologists who work for one of Canadas' most prestigious optical companies. Because we are so exposed to telescopes and cameras of varying natures on a daily basis, we decided to make our own telescopes. That was the start of the "Bug", and we've been going strong ever since. This site was created to share our experiences with this challenging hobby and the amazing beauty of the night sky.
A big part of being an amateur astronomer, is sharing our enthusiasm and passion for astronomy with others. It's for this reason we do Astronomy presentations for charitable organizations or for just about any group interested.
