Georgian Bay Rowing Club

Established in 1985, this club has offered the sport of rowing to the communities of Midland, Penetanguishene and surrounding areas for the last 25 years.  Whether members have competitive aspirations or want to to row leisurely, the Georgian Bay Rowing Club has something to offer everyone.

Rowing is one of the best all-round exercises. It uses all major muscle groups and is low impact.  As a sport, it can be enjoyed individually or as a team.

The Georgian Bay Rowing Club conducts its activities on Midland’s Little Lake.  This lake is large enough to accommodate a 1200 metre racing course and is small enough that waves are seldom a problem.  The club’s fleet includes sculling boats (rowers have two oars each) and sweep boats (rowers use one oar each).  There are 3 double sculls, 5 four person shells, 1 eight person shell, 2 singles and 2 stable touring boats.

The Georgian Bay Rowing Club offers memberships for high school students, adult men and women and post-secondary students. Our friendly club manager also offers learn-to-row programs for adults and youth (12 and up).
