Blue Jiu Jitsu was started in 2005 in the Town of Midland. The club is operated by Bill Browne who holds a black belt in Jiu Jitsu. The teachings of the club concentrate on ground fighting but also encompass stand up techniques which include punches, kicks, joint locks & chokes. Blue Jiu Jitsu is currently associated with the Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Association which provides the club with insurance and maintains a standard to Jiu Jitsu in Canada.
Currently we are only teaching adult classes at Blue Jiu Jitsu. Adult classes are open to anyone 18 years of age and over. Classes are held every Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday night from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM. Follow link for more info on classes and rates.
Blue Jiu Jitsu is currently accepting new students until the class limit is reached, then those wishing to join will be placed on a waiting list.
Blue Jiu Jitsu has just installed all new mats in the dojo providing wall to wall matting. 2 inch Polyethylene mats have been installed which provide enough firmness for stand up fighting but yet absorb the energy of a throw. Pictures of the dojo with the new mats will be added shortly for all to see.
