We would be pleased to offer design ideas or can help you adapt an existing plan to the unique characteristics of log home construction. We can also provide working drawings.

Each Aikins building
is designed and
built to allow for shrinkage and window and doors have splines cut into
the
openings to allow for this shrinkage. For your convenience, wiring
holes and
cut-ins for electrical boxes can be provided. We can also construct
impressive
timber staircases. |

 Exposed structural timbers or logs are used to produce simple and complex truss assemblies, ridge beams, rafters, purlins, dormers and floor systems.  $10.00 to $15.00 per
square foot |

 Scandinavian buildings are handcrafted using white pine logs with a minimum 12" top (or greater if desired). All logs are hand peeled. Corners are joined using (shrink-to-fit) saddle notches and each log is hand fit to the log below along its entire length, forming a hand carved, precise fit. $35.00 to $40.00 per square
